And a full shut-down/restart doesn't fix it?
alright so i have USB ports on my monitor....working fine, i use those for my ipod
today i tried to use them and they just up and stopped working
not just for my ipod too..my thumb drive too (which i used those for that earlier too)
all my other USB ports work except those
something similar to this happened to me a while back when i first got my ipod
and i fiex it somehow but can't remember
any tips?
And a full shut-down/restart doesn't fix it?
Only thing I can think to do is go into the Device Manager and check for any bad USB ports. If you find a bad one, I think you should be able to right click the propeties for an option to fix it (troubleshooting).

i've even tried what the dell site says and basically reset my monitor and still no worky
it's not really a ncessity cuz i have like 15 other usb ports on my actual computer
it's just really nice and easy using the ones on the monitor
I know it is a simple things, but have you dislodged the USB cable that connects the computer to the monitor?

Question #1: "Is it plugged in?"
Question #2: "Is it turned on?"
idiot: "help! my computer's not working"
guy: "is it powered on?"
idiot: "no"
guy: "there is your problem"
